OMAC Meeting Minutes
December 13, 2011
Oran Church

Treasurers Report: We have 24 current members for the 2011 year. Dues are now due.
Savings Account: $1725.65
Checking Account: $362.11

New Business: Jim Hutka looked at some shed options. All three estimates were for a 12’ x 16’ Shed that could house both mowers.
Affordable Portables: Deluxe Shed delivered and assembles $3200.00. Economy Shed $2700.00.
84 Lumber Kit: Marginal build quality: $1500.00, plus $100.00 delivery.
Home Depot Materials: This would be for a good quality design: $1761.77

Ralph offered a second option. He has a decent size shed on his property that could be donated to the club if it can be moved to the property. Tim King seemed confident that it could be done. The shed would need some work on the doors, but overall it is in decent shape. Several of the members were going to take a look at the shed this coming week.

There was also some discussion regarding a base for the shed. Brian was going to ask the church if they would object if we use concrete.

Ralph mentioned that he has several hollow corer doors that would make good building tables. Contact Ralph if you are interested.

Paul mentioned that he will take care of the repair of our pilot barriers. One has some damage to the piping. Others need the screen refurbished.

Jim Leary brought in the AMA Field guidelines. Our setup is in good order. However we should have some improvements in our signage. One area of concern is the parking of cars. We should not park up by the fence. All cars should be back by the pavilion and trees. There should be signs designating the parking area.

Jim Hutka also looked into pricing of gravel for the approach of the road and the pavilion.

Driveway Mix would be $180.00 + Tax for 5 yards, and $260.00 + Tax for 10 yards.

Run & Crush would be $160.00 + Tax for 5 years, and $230.00 + Tax for 10 yards.

It was agreed upon to definitely doing something about the approach to the road so cars will not be damaged. We will have this done before flying starts.

Next month, Tim King, as offered to give a talk on electric aircraft. Tim has some good experience this area. It should be a worthwhile discussion.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 6:30 at Oran Church.

Respectively Submitted,

Jim Leary
